SOURCING + PROCUREMENT
North End proudly supports our sailors by offering unique, affordable, quality products through the U.S. Navy’s Afloat program. We partner with both small and large companies to curate a selection of nutritious alternative snacks and beverages, as well as convenient personal care and beauty items to be offered through the ship stores. North End stands behind the women and men who serve our great country - we strive to provide our sailors with items they can get excited about!
Ship stores, similar to a small convenient store, are aboard each of the U.S. Navy ships. These stores offer a variety of products for purposes of convenience and moral welfare to our sailors during deployments as well as daily work life while in port. Profits derived from ship store sales support the U.S. Navy’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs for each of the ships. Navy MWR's mission is to deliver high-quality, customer-focused programs and services that contribute to resiliency, retention, readiness, and quality of life.

WHO WE ARE

John Lugo
Co-Founder + Senior Partner
​
A Navy Veteran, John served 21 years as a Supply Corps Officer with extensive experience in supply chain management, inventory management, financial management, and procurement and sourcing of products. John earned a MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School and Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
​
Additionally, John founded and directed KaZAM, a nationally recognized children’s balance bike company, for 10+ years. Utilizing his knowledge of logistics, procurement and finance, John brought KaZAM to the forefront of the U.S. balance bike market.
John is also the founder and President of WE ARE VB, a Virginia Beach-based local non-profit organization that serves homeless and at-risk area high school students - serving our country, serving our community. John resides in Virginia Beach, VA – his home of 30 years.
Greg Hajzak
Co-Founder + Senior Partner

A Veteran, Greg served 30+ years in the U.S. Navy as a Supply Corps Officer with extensive experience in aerospace, defense and military supply chain management, logistics, acquisition and procurement, global supply chain operations, strategic materials management and financial management. Greg earned a Master of Science degree in Material Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, and completed executive programs at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan Flagler School of Business and
University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

In his free time, Greg enjoys life on the water sailing, boating, jet-skiing and fishing. Love of the sea spans through his career and beyond – sailing has been a way of life. Greg also actively participates in a variety of charity events, donating his time to non-profit organizations. After spending many years in Virginia Beach throughout his Navy career, Greg has chosen to make Virginia Beach his permanent home.
